Hello Josie / Abergavenny Transition Town,
Thankyou for supporting Greeniversity “green skill sharing” in establishing a Brecon Beacons group. At the moment the group is just starting up and it would be great to get people involved in the group to establish it online first.
We are keen to find either one or a few people/organisations that would be able to promote Greeniversity in the area.
This is a networking role and will primarily focus on getting interested people to sign up to the Brecon Beacons Greeniversity group (it’s all free). Once 10 people have joined the group then classes can be started.
If you are able to assist us by passing on the below email to community groups or individuals that you think might be interested we’d appreciate your support in this.

We think that you’ll be interested in a new green skill sharing project coming to Brecon Beacons called Greeniversity.

Greeniversity is an online hub to aid and spread skill sharing in your community, using free local venues to bring together teachers and learners. Classes include any ‘green skills’, from bike maintenance to growing your own food, customising charity shop clothing to learning a new language, and more.
This is a really good opportunity to build on all the work of existing and previous initiatives to spread free skill sharing to a wider audience.
Greeniversity started in 2009 in Peterborough, expanded to Cambridge, Manchester, Bristol and London and is now spreading around the country to involve more and more people and groups.
To join up you simply need to visit the Greeniversity website www.greeniversity.org.uk/sign-up and add yourself to the Brecon Beacons group.
