Incredible Edible

Incredible Edible is an initiative in Abergavenny (South Wales) which aims to plant fruit and vegetables in public places for anyone to help themselves.

VegBedIncredibleEdibleInspired by the example of Incredible Edible Todmorden, which has revolutionised the food culture of the Pennine town, Incredible Edible Abergavenny ( in Welsh: ‘Bwyd Bendigedig y Fenni’) aims to inspire the people of Abergavenny to embrace growing their own food.

Raised vegetable beds, herb gardens and fruit trees will be appearing in open spaces or public area near you. We’ll be encouraging you to help yourself, but we will also need lots of help to dig, grow and water.

The aim of Incredible Edible Abergavenny is to involve as many people as possible in growing food in a way that makes it accessible to anyone. It all began with the planting of Abergavenny Community Orchard. Our aim is to spread the word about growing food locally and making sure that people know how to grow good food. We aim to involve everyone, young and old, in growing food in an environmentally beneficial way.

It’s simple – if you eat, you’re in!  If you see a bed near you, take some time to weed, water or help yourself to the produce. Let’s make Abergavenny an Incredible Edible place.

Our mission is to plant everywhere and make sure that people are learning how to grow food, have access to, and enjoy, good food.
